In May 2006, a bill to legalise medically assisted suicide in the UK was defeated in the House of Lords by 148 votes to 100. In recent years, more than 40 British people are thought to have travelled to Switzerland for assisted suicides. Here’s a link to an article on one of the high-profile cases, a doctor called Anne Turner.

What do you think? Would you like to see assisted suicide made legal here in Portugal?

"Brilliant Ideas"?
Probably you’re asking: why did this guy post this photo?Because this is what a blog is about, posting things that you like. You can upload photos, music, texts, things which draw your attention in a certain way, and then make a comment on that.
For me that’s a nice exercise. Filling gaps, answering questions and reading texts are things that we are currently doing in our classes, so in my opinion we should try to do and show different things here, don’t you think?
I post this picture first because it’s the first price of the World Press Photo 2007. I think it captures the global spirit of human kind in this moment. People are sick of war, even the soldiers are. It’s not a beautiful Thai’s landscape, but it documents a part of this century’s history and probably it will be appearing at the student books in the future.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I did, looking forward to read your posts.

Welcome
Hi everybody.
I've just set this up, but it's the first time I've done a blog - so I need some suggestions and input from you - especially if you've had experience of blogs before. What kinds of things did your previous teachers do with them? Did everyone participate? If not, how can we encourage them to this time?Or any other brilliant ideas for what we can do with the Google page?
At least say something so we can check that everything's working OK for everybody.
Linda
